Micro-Tech U.S.A. (mtusa.com) is a Chicago MSP with 40+ people, in business since 1989. We're looking for a Systems Administrator to be the onsite technical lead and escalation point for one of our nonprofit clients on Chicago's West Side. The role Five days a week onsite at the client. Once you're settled in, there's some room for remote days when the site is covered. You’ll be the L2 on the ground. Escalations from the client's 3-person internal IT team will land with you, and you own the day-to-day health of their environment: servers, network, M365, endpoints, and the staff who depend on all of it. You’ll also be part of a pod with 4 other MTUSA engineers who are also helping with that account and others, and you'll work closely with our CTO, who holds the vCIO seat, and with the client's leadership. You should have - 3+ years in MSP or internal IT, with real time as the escalation point - Solid on M365, Windows Server/AD, networking, endpoint - Comfortable working independently onsite and knowing when to pull in help - Experience guiding a small internal IT team without formally managing them - Patience with non-technical users who are busy and stretched thin Nice to have (not required) CompTIA / Cisco / Microsoft certs Nonprofit IT experience Our stack PSA: HaloPSA RMM: NinjaOne Security: Huntress, SentinelOne Networking: Meraki (SMB), Cisco + Aruba (larger clients) Backup: Acronis & Datto Documentation: IT Glue & Strety for internal processes Identity/MFA: Duo & Entra Email Security: Barracuda & Proofpoint GRC: Vanta On-call Secondary/escalation tier, in rotation. 1 week every 6 weeks. L1s handle primary on-call, and you back them up when things escalate. Staff covers until midnight, so the active window is midnight to 6 AM weekdays plus weekends. Most nights are quiet.
